Give Yourself Permission

When I tuned into Extras the other day I was really just going for fashion tips and a bit of goss.

I didn’t imagine that the words of one gorgeous Kerry Washington could put me in such a reflective mood.

When asked what advice she would give someone who wanted to look as well fashioned and fabulous as her, her response was, “I know what I like, and what I don’t like. If you spend your time trying to be someone else you’ll never make your mark in this world.”

Words of truth indeed!

Growing up I was a confident and popular child, but even then I was such a people pleaser and didn't feel happy unless someone somehow validated me.

I was top of my class because I wanted my dad to love me. I didn't date until my very late teens because I wanted to be the perfect daughter for my mother.

I took this attitude into my work life, where I had to be the best financial analyst and stock picker in the shortest, fastest, quickest time so my bosses would tell me how brilliant I was.

And as a friend I was always the one you could rely on to pick you up from the airport, late at night on short notice.

As I have grown younger and wiser I have come to accept that there is nothing that anyone of us can ever do to make everyone want, love, and approve of us.

And that’s okay, because that's your job.

It’s up to you to love, appreciate and approve of you just as you are.

Nobody knows the breaths you have taken, the paths you have journeyed, what you have loved and lost, and all the fears you have starred back in the face to be here today.

So give yourself permission to love you, let loose and be YOU – warts, quirks, weirdness, glory and all.

It won’t always be comfortable and you will sometimes be called selfish, but it will be the most rewarding decision and best fun you ever have in your life.

Give yourself permission:

  • To be exactly who you are, to be only yourself, and to not care about what other people think you should be.
  • To say no without feeling guilt, and to say yes not out of obligation but because it lights you up.
  • To not be the best or number one at everything, to bomb, get it wrong, and just do the best you can.
  • To be brilliant in your field, to let others see your magnificence, to be on top of your game, and to be paid well for it.
  • To feel blue and hurt, to crawl under the blanket and cry from your soul, knowing that this too will pass because your happiness is ordained.
  • To have fun and excitement, to do things that bring you joy, to laugh until you snort, to be wild when you want, and to dance till your calves hurt.
  • To let go of friendships that make you feel unappreciated and suck the energy out of you.
  • To forgive and be forgiven. To give second chances and be given second chances. To be gentle and patient with yourself.
  • To surround yourself with people who love, value, adore and appreciate you, people who nurture you, believe in you, and whose eyes light up when you walk in the room.
  • To give other people the room and space to be themselves, and to love them just as they are.

Give yourself permission to be loved, to be cherished, and to be the prize - Just As You Are.

As Rev. Michael Beckwith says, you are great and there is something magnificent about you.

The world needs you. So claim your place in it and the Universe will deliver you the prosperity, love, joy and happiness that are yours by divine right.

P.S. PRACTICE THE ART OF SELF LOVE AND DISCOVER THE ESSENTIAL KEY TO SUCCESSFUL MANIFESTING WITH:

When All You Need Is A Better Feeling Thought

There are days when things just don't go our way, and trying to hold nice-happy-rainbows-and-butterflies thoughts on a day like that is going to be as productive as me asking Benny the greyhound if he has seen my magic pants.

Tricky thing though is, we attract what we think about, so switching to good feeling thoughts is the first step to turning a bad day around.

But here is the thing – you don’t have to go for giddy and euphoric to change the tune of things. All you have to do is reach for a better feeling thought.

As Abraham-Hicks say:

“I’ve decided that I care enough about how I feel that I’m going to deliberately direct my thoughts little by little into places that feel better and better.”

Once you have found that better feeling thought, hold onto it for 17 seconds, and then another... and soon you will be feeling enormous relief, and find it easier to move your attention towards even more affirmative thoughts.

Here are a few better feeling thoughts that I have found useful when I need to counter my bad-day-thoughts and realign with well-being:

1. Disappointment

  • Sure, this is not what I expected... but maybe this is what it looks like when things are working out for my highest good.
  • I don’t have to change the past; I just have to look to the future.
  • This isn't over yet - my best days are ahead of me.
  • This too shall pass.
  • Everything happens in the right order and timing, and when my turn to receive Good comes, I will be right here, ready for it.

2. Possibility

  • Anything is possible. In fact EVERYTHING is possible!
  • Good things are on the way.
  • I have done my part, now I'm going to let go and let in good.
  • Change happens fast.

3. Support

  • Help is on the way.
  • I am open to guidance.
  • Angels of Joy and Angels of Success, I call upon you to please walk with me and on the path before me, making Joy and Success my way.

4. Confidence

  • I can do this... just one step at a time.
  • I am doing a good job.
  • I am safe and protected.
  • There’s lots to love and appreciate about me.
  • No mistakes, just lessons learned – I’m getting wiser.

All you have to do is feel a little better, then a little better, and just a little more better, and soon enough you'll be feeling a whole LOT of good.

Just reading over this list makes me feel good.

What thoughts will you be using to move yourself into that 'better feeling' sweet spot?

Wishing you the best, peaceful and happiest of feelings.

P.S. CREATE A SENSE OF COMFORT, HAPPINESS AND WELLBEING WITH THE HELP OF:

The Key To Magic And Manifesting

ONE of the key ingredients to magic and manifestation is to acknowledge your sublime magnificence. In fact, I would venture as far as to say if I could practice only one manifesting technique, it would be self-love.

Self-love is the pull that connects us with the all present and loving creative force that responds to our desires. Whether you call it Universe, God, Spirit, Source, Field of Infinite Possibility, or Higher Power, when we become aligned with this presence, everything that is right for us flows to us quickly and naturally.

Your capacity to enjoy who you are contributes to your ability to manifest your desires because:

  • When you are being loving towards yourself you emit a strong vibration that tells the Universe that you are good enough and deserving of all the good it has in store for you.
  • Your feelings are your point of attraction. The more you can feel good and appreciative of yourself, the more you will become attractive and magnetic to the things you want to manifest.

Self-love guides you to engage in thoughts and activities that bring you joy. It encourages you to seek the company of people who appreciate and uplift you. It emboldens you to value your skills and talents. It inspires you to demand the best of everything for yourself.

You want to feel good about yourself? Affirm to yourself something you love and appreciate about yourself. And it can be anything, from the intellect, physical, soulful, right down to the whimsical. All it takes to put a smile on my face is for me to remind myself how “I love my button nose.”

So what is it that you love about yourself? Some of the warm fuzzies may be:

  • I have a good head on my shoulders. Brains and glossy hair too!
  • I love that I am excellent at my job and my clients are in good hands.
  • I pay my bills on time.
  • I make time to have long relaxing baths.
  • I love that I smile at the checkout people.
  • I love that I nurture myself with good food and exercise.
  • I make the best pancakes ever! I rock.
  • Even though I am short tempered, I love that I am willing to improve.

Did you notice the self-acceptance there? Allow yourself to feel and be loveable just as you are today.

Also tell the Universe, what you are worthy of:

  • I am worthy of good friendships.
  • I am worthy of a successful career.
  • I am worthy of a loving partner.
  • I am worthy of good health.
  • I am worthy of financial abundance.

Another way to practice self-love is through doing things that make you feel good. If you enjoy walking, then go for a walk. Watch your favourite movie. Go for a massage. Read a book and clean the house another day. Eat your favourite cake. Maybe even bake it. Call a friend and chat for an hour. If you have been getting to work late and it’s been causing you stress, then get up earlier and start your day relaxed.

Bottom line is do things that are going to make you feel good, or just plain better. What those things are will be different for each person.

Every time you practice this self-appreciation, you will be directly connecting with the power that creates worlds and impressing upon its mind your worthiness to receive the good it has in store for you.

Take a minute to contemplate these words of wisdom by Amanda Owen;

“The world will give only as much as you can receive.”

So love yourself enough to be willing and open to receive the highest and best expressions of life: abundance, loving and nurturing relationships, success in all your endeavours, joy and peace of mind.

As, always thank you for tuning in.

Love and Blessings,

Loago
